The Board of Island County Commissioners will meet in special session 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, in the commissioners hearing room in Coupeville.

Commissioners will meet with Washington State Ferries Assistant Secretary Lynne Griffith who will share her experiences over her first three months in that position.

Lacey Harper, deputy director of external affairs for the governor’s office, will also be in attendance. Both visitors will answer questions and offer feedback concerning transportation and ferry issues.
