A fire Sunday evening resulted in the total loss of a trailer that was parked next to a Deer Lake Road residence, but no injuries occurred, according to South Whidbey Fire/EMS.
Firefighters responded to the blaze around 11:07 p.m. that night when the residents of the home discovered the fire.
A family member of the homeowner was living in the camper, Public Information Officer Jon Gabelein said, but they evacuated immediately after noticing the fire and suffered no injuries.
The flames destroyed the trailer, but firefighters were on scene for about two hours to stop the fire from spreading.
Beyond some smoke and heat damage to nearby structures, nothing was majorly impacted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and appears to be unintentional.
Gabelein said the value of the loss is unknown at this time.
The herd of goats near the barn adjacent to the camper was not harmed during the incident, he added.
