Three people are suspected in an April 23 laundromat burglary and a car prowl in Langley.

An officer with the Langley Police Department arrested the three suspects as they were driving around town with a fishing rod that had been stolen from a car, according to the police report.

The suspects were identified as 29-year-old Susan C. Soley of Everett; 46-year-old Jerry F. Goodwill of Marysville; and 31-year-old Steven J. Rodger of Clinton.

Prosecutors charged each suspect in Island County Superior Court April 25 with burglary in the second degree, vehicle prowl in the second degree and theft in the third degree.

A resident of Second Street saw the suspects’ vehicle pulled up next to her parked car. A person in a hoodie got out of the car and broke into her vehicle; she yelled at the suspects, who drove away.

The woman reported that multiple items were stolen, including a Shakespeare fishing rod.

The officer stopped the suspects’ car about 10 minutes after receiving the 911 call from the victim. The two passengers were lying down on their seats.

The officer found the fishing rod in the suspects’ car, according to the report.

After arresting the three suspects, the officer discovered that the All Washed Up laundromat had been burglarized. A security video showed three people matching the suspects burglarizing the laundromat, the officer wrote.
