A free Crabbing 101 seminar is being offered by the Deception Pass Sail and Power Squadron and the Oak Harbor Yacht Club at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at the OHYC.

Participants will be taught how to rig pots, catch more crabs and avoid equipment loss, as well as the many ways to catch crab from shore or boat.

Subjects covered in the seminar will include needed equipment, the best baits, license requirements and regulations, Whidbey Island locations, best times and tides, and crab lore and life cycles.

The seminar will include demonstrations, slides and free coffee.

A $5 donation to the Power Squadron Education Fund is suggested.
