In addition to her academic pursuits, Ruggiero had a record-setting career on the Princeton track and field team, both in the 20-pound weight throw (indoors) and the hammer throw (outdoors). She is the Princeton record-holder for women in the hammer throw and fourth all-time in the Ivy League.
