Carole Tyson of Greenbank was the winner of a door prize at the kickoff for Friends of South Whidbey State Park on Aug. 19.

The fine-art print of a park scene was donated by Joe Menth of Fine Balance Imaging and the frame was donated by Chris and Joy Dennis of the Handsome Framer and Queens Buns, all Bayview Corner businesses.

Friends of South Whidbey State Park was formed to aid the park’s activities. Budget cuts have limited what the rangers can do, and the group plans to handle greeting visitors, maintaining the trails, guiding nature walks and supporting the park in other ways.
