No one was seriously injured in a head-on collision on State Route 525 on Aug. 22 between Coupeville and Greenbank.
A 47-year-old woman from Coupeville was driving south on Highway 525 in a 2012 Dodge Ram pick-up truck Sunday afternoon, according to State Trooper Rocky Oliphant.
When she turned left onto Houston Road, she struck a north-bound 2002 Nissan Altima, he said.
The Nissan’s driver, a 16-year-old boy from Burlington, was briefly trapped in his car after the crash.
Responders from Central Whidbey Island Fire and Rescue had to remove the Nissan’s driver’s side door to extricate the driver, who was transported to WhidbeyHealth in Coupeville for minor injuries, said Central Whidbey Fire Chief Ed Hartin.
The woman also sustained minor injuries, but stayed on the scene.
Houston Road was closed following the accident, but the highway remained open.
