The Island County Fair wraps up today in Langley. But there is still plenty to see and do before the county’s big event comes to a close.
Here’s a look at today’s highlights:
On the Eva Mae Gabelein Stage on the midway, local country singer John Thompson performs at 10:30 a.m. He’ll be followed by Southbound at 11 a.m.
John Dunnigan returns to the midway stage at 12:30, and Sterling Dietze performs at 1:30 p.m.
Later this afternoon, Joe Slick plays the midway stage at 4, and the Cherry Cherry Band closes the evening at 6:30 p.m.
The 4-H Parade of Champions is at 10 a.m. in the horse arena.
At the logging arena, the kids’ climbing finals are at 11 a.m. and the Bunyon Busters Log Show is at 1 p.m.
Great gourds! The giant zucchini contest is at noon on the 4-H lawn. Other fun competitions include the goat milking relay at 11 in the dairy goat barn, the Chicken Olympic trials at 11 and 1:30 p.m. on the Clucky Stage in the poultry barn, and the 4-H alpaca limbo contest in the livestock arena at 1 p.m. Also this afternoon: the 4-H cavy costume contest at 1 p.m. in the cavy barn, and the goat calling contest at 2 p.m. in the dairy goat barn.
The trash-talk inspired tug-of-war between South Whidbey and Mukilteo is at 2:30 p.m. in the horse arena.
