Island County Public Works is set to purchase new portable, roll up signs and stands through a Washington State contract totaling $41,825.

Road crews use the signs and stands for temporary traffic control to alert drivers to the type of work taking place and convey the necessary driving actions.

Funding for the signs is earmarked in the 2014 budget.
