As of Friday, about 623,000 Washington state ballots were received by the counties, according to David Ammons, communications director for the Office of Secretary of State
That figure represents 14.7 percent of the 4.24 million ballots sent out, Ammons said.
“We’re thinking 80 percent eventual return, or more,” Ammons said in an emailed news release Tuesday.
According to the figures released by the Secretary of State, Island County has the second highest percentage of ballots submitted to date.
