Island Shakespeare Festival has launched a fundraiser with Kickstarter in order to raise funds for a new backstage.

Festival organizers hope to purchase repurposed shipping containers that will serve as shelter and a backstage area for actors. In past years, the Island Shakespeare Festival’s backstage has used tents and sheets that hang from trees, much like a traveling caravan. The performers don’t have the luxury of changing areas or protection from bugs and adverse weather.
