The Whidbey Camano Land Trust will turn 30 this month and the community is invited to a anniversary celebration.

The non-profit conservation organization is holding the event Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at the Camp Casey Picnic Area in Coupeville.

All ages are welcome. Attendees will be treated to a salmon barbecue meal, music from the Mweya Marimba Band, words from inspirational speaker Martin LeBlanc of the Children and Nature Network, hands-on activities and guided tours.

Bat box building, Native American storytelling, old-growth forest and military history tours are just some of the activities and guided tours to participate in.

The Whidbey Camano Land Trust protects the Islands’ most important natural habitats, scenic vistas and working farms in partnership with landowners and the broader community. Incorporated in 1984, the Land Trust is a local, nonprofit, non-political organization working to protect those places that Whidbey and Camano Islanders hold precious and important for current and future generations.
