Land use, comprehensive plan input wanted in upcoming Island County Planning Department meetings

The Island County Planning Department is seeking input on proposed changes to its comprehensive plan update for the Langley, Freeland, Coupeville and Oak Harbor areas.

The Island County Planning Department is seeking input on proposed changes to its comprehensive plan update for the Langley, Freeland, Coupeville and Oak Harbor areas. The department is hosting a series of community meetings in an effort to gain feedback from the public and input on its options. The update will reflect changes and anticipated changes in land use.

A workshop on the Langley area will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 28 at South Whidbey High School’s commons on 5675 S. Maxwelton Road, Langley. For the Coupeville area, a meeting will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, 901 NW Alexander St., Coupeville. An open house on the Freeland area will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31 at the Freeland Water and Sewer District Offices, 5585 Lotto Ave., Freeland.

The Oak Harbor area will be discussed from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at the Elks Lodge, 155 NE Ernst St., Oak Harbor.
