The Langley City Council will take the final step in annexing into the Sno-Isle Library District at the council’s meeting tonight.
The council is expected to approve an annexation agreement with the library district, which sets out the city’s and the district’s responsibilities when the annexation takes effect on Jan. 1.
Under the proposed agreement, the city will own the library building and continue to maintain the facility and grounds. The city’s library board will stay in place.
The library district will provide all staff, books and equipment, as well as new or replacement furnishings. The district will also pay for janitorial services and cover the cost of utilities.
The council meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 20 at Langley City Hall.
