Cary Peterson, long involved in environmental issues on Whidbey Island, has been reappointed to the Langley Parks & Open Space Commission.
The Langley City Council this week affirmed Peterson’s appointment by Mayor Paul Samuelson for another three-year term on the commission.
Peterson, Good Cheer Food Bank’s garden manager, also is a member of the city’s Cemetery Board.
The five-member Parks & Open Space Commission recently completed a long-term plan for the city to improve existing facilities, devise a trail system, support community agriculture and conserve privately owned open space.
The volunteer advisory commission meets from 3 to 5 p.m. the second Monday of each month at city hall on Second Street.
