Langley Mayor Paul Samuelson will not run for a second term.
Samuelson made the announcement in a statement to the press just after 6 p.m. Friday
“There are times in life when one comes to a crossroad and must make difficult decisions. Deciding whether or not to run for a second term as mayor of Langley is such a time for me,” Samuelson said in the statement.
“After much soul searching and with enormous sadness, I have come to the decision not to run for a second term as mayor,” he said.
In his statement, Samuelson said he had accomplished many of the goals that he had set out for his term as mayor, and promised to highlight those in the days ahead.
“In the coming weeks, I would like to have conversations that reflect upon the successes and positive changes in Langley, our hopes for the future, as well as sharing my perspective on the best form of city government going forward,” he said.
