Carli Newman, Langley Middle School geography bee winner, made it to the fifth level of the state National Geographic geography competition.

The contest went eight rounds before a winner was determined April 5 at Pacific Lutheran University.

“We are all very proud of her,” said Superintendent Jo Moccia in her April 22 online update.
