Trish Nilsen of Whidbey Family Birthplace was one of 19 nurses who recently received an award from the March of Dimes Washington Chapter.
Nilsen was given the Front Line Leader award.
The March of Dimes is an organization that focuses on newborn health through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs, according to a news release.
Whidbey Family Birthplace is part of Whidbey General Hospital. According to the hospital’s website, 150 babies have been born at the birthplace this year through October. An average of about 200 births take place there each year.
