Anyone planning on watching or racing in the Langley Soup Box Derby at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 should still do so, despite a high chance of rain in the forecast.
Langley Community Club President John Lawson said the race would go on, and inclement weather would deter them only if the conditions became unsafe.
“If it’s running water on the street, it’s way too dangerous for the racers and for spectators,” Lawson said Friday morning.
The race will not be canceled early, he said. Any decision about scrubbing the event for bad weather will be made Sunday morning.
