Langley’s Colin Scott takes award for honors thesis at university

Colin Scott of Langley was named the winner of the “Outstanding Undergraduate Honor’s Thesis Award” for the department of computer science and engineering at the University of Washington on June 11.

Colin Scott of Langley was named the winner of the “Outstanding Undergraduate Honor’s Thesis Award” for the department of computer science and engineering at the University of Washington on June 11.

Scott graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in computer science and a minor in philosophy. He was selected for the Outstanding Honor’s Thesis Award by faculty members within the UW department of computer science and engineering.

The son of Robert and Kate Scott, he is a 2007 graduate of South Whidbey High School and also attended Brentwood College School in Mill Bay, B.C. for grades nine through 11.

Scott has been accepted into a doctorate program in computer science at University of California, Berkeley, where he will begin graduate school this fall.
