The 2016 Salish Sea Early Music Festival will hold its last performance this season at 7 p.m., June 6, at St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods Episcopal Church at 5217 Honeymoon Bay Road in Freeland.

Performers Oleg Timofeyev and Jeffrey Cohan will play songs from the early 19th century romantic period in a performance entitled “Romantic Guitar and Flute.”

Artistic Director and flautist Cohan will play on his eight-keyed flute of Jamaican ebony made in London in 1820. Timofeyev, born in Moscow, Russia, will be playing on his early 19th century guitar. The two will perform music from what was the golden age for flute-guitar duets, Cohan said in a news release.

The Salish Sea Early Music Festival is a series of performances throughout the area, with shows taking place from Seattle to Vancouver and the islands in between. The program will include a nocturne by guitarist Francesco Molino, a divertissement by flautist Gaspard Kummer and serenades by violinist Joseph Kuffner and guitarist Mauro Giuliani.

Cost is a suggested donation for adults, free for those 18 and under. Visit http://www.salishseafestival.org/whidbey for more information.
