More than 400 items will be on the block at the 10th annual Langley Christian School Harvest Auction and dinner Nov. 16. The event is being held in a new location this year, on the LCS school campus at 5373 Maxwelton Road, across from South Whidbey Intermediate School.
Festivities will begin at 5:45 p.m., with a dinner featuring a pork or chicken entree prepared by Cafe Langley, along with the restaurant’s famous desserts.
The auction items will appeal to almost every taste and interest. Sports fans will find golfing packages, Seahawks club seat tickets and premium Mariners tickets. Vacation trips include a week in a Gold Crown Resort condo in Puerto Vallarta, a Royal Argosy dinner cruise or a trip on the Victoria Clipper. For the do-it-yourself there will be a 14-inch bar Husqvarna chainsaw, a load of crushed rock or four hours of bulldozer work by Bill Birney.
There will be unique ideas for entertainment: a home-cooked Amish supper for six by Corky Warwick and two hours of piano entertainment by Marisa LaRue for the dinner party. Or bid on 20 movie rentals from Movies Tonight, three flats of organic strawberries from Saratoga Berry Farm, beef ribs and chili beans for eight adults delivered to your home by Jake Matthew.
Proceeds this year will be used for an upgrade in computers, new gym equipment and the school’s scholarship program.
Tickets are $16 before Nov. 10 or $20 at the door. For additional information, call 221-0919.
