Editor,
Personally, I’ve read enough of the “Dan Freeman mantra” in this paper and it’s time someone sets him straight on a few things.
First, never presume you may tell me or anyone else who to vote for under any circumstances.
Second, get off the military’s back and appreciate the fact that they do a very good job protecting us while making many sacrifices I doubt you would ever have the courage to put forth. They may not always be deployed for all of the right reasons or to areas of the world you or I would send them, but they do not make these decisions. It would pay you well to remember the people who direct them are our elected officials, especially that so-called commander and chief we currently have in place — what a joke.
Third, on the economy and your repeated comments concerning the “Political Economy Research Institute,” you are, as usual, way off the mark. We do not have a military to create employment. Again, they are in place to protect us. All of us. Even you, despite your very apparent disrespect for them.
Continuing with the subject of the economy, it is in shambles. It is, however, everyone’s fault, including yours and mine, not just “one party.” There are many, many hard-working, productive American citizens who remain unemployed due to past and present government policies. The notion that the federal government can and should take care of everyone serves only to create an ignorant and apathetic public which is mostly what we have today. Do we have to label hot coffee, hot? Really?
Dan, you continually play into this “political party game” which is exactly what these mindless politicians hope to perpetuate. Decisions made based upon politics are, the majority of the time, poor decisions or worse yet, no decisions are made at all for fear of one or the other party losing power. America, wake up and smell the coffee before it’s too late. Make them work with honesty and integrity or vote them out.
