Levay and Mann to marry in September

Matthew Taylor Levay and Rachael Elizabeth Mann, along with their parents, are pleased to announce their wedding engagement. The couple will be married on Saturday, Sept. 13, in a private ceremony in Freeland.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Edward and Michael Teresa Mann, of Freeland, and the granddaughter of Harold and Mary Mann, of Edmonds, and the late Roy and Bettie McGee, of Claremore, Okla. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and a master’s in fine arts degree in creative writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently serves as the book publicist for the University of Washington Press.

The groom-to-be is the son of Allan and Beverly Levay, of Maysville, Ky., and the grandson of Bernard and Dolores Miller, of Maysville, and James and Carolyn Levay, of St. Augustine, Fla. He received a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree from the University of Washington, where he is currently completing his doctorate’s degree in English literature.

Their sisters, Sydney Mann and Elizabeth Levay, will serve as bridesmaids during the ceremony. Adam Applegate, of Lexington, Ky., will serve as best man.

The couple will take a January honeymoon in Puerto Rico, and then return to their home in Seattle.
