Unity topic is ‘Our Mighty Imagination’
Rev. Christina Lee will speak on “Our Mighty Imagination” this Sunday at Unity.
The lesson will be about using our divine power of imagination (Charles Fillmore’s “The Twelve Powers”) to open the door to our inner creativity to manifest our hopes and dreams.
Unity meets at 10 a.m. in Bayview Community Hall. All members and friends plus anyone interested in a growing church community are particularly welcome. There will also be an update on the construction of the new church.
Bishops will visit to ordain two residents
Brazilian Bishop Robinson Cavalcanti and Bishop Richard Boyce of the newly-formed Anglican Diocese of Cascadia will preside over the ordination of Mark Hickinbotham and Roger Vehorn, both members of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14.
Vehorn is a Langley resident and Hickinbotham lives in Oak Harbor.
A celebration lunch will follow the ordination, and the community is invited to attend and celebrate.

Perspectives from Islam at UUCWI
Jamal Rahman, Muslim Sufi and co-minister at Seattle’s Interfaith Community Church, will be the speaker at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island this Sunday.
Always an engaging storyteller, Rahman cultivates a “spaciousness” by being open to the beauty and wisdom of other faiths, while remaining rooted in his Islamic tradition.
The service starts at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare for infants and toddlers will be provided.

Genesis series continues at SWCC
Darrell Wenzek will continue in his series from Genesis tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church. His sermon title is, “The Abrahamic Covenant,” based on the Biblical text of Genesis 12:1-3.
The church’s adult learning forums are back on track for tomorrow, both at 9 a.m.; a study of the Book of Acts, led by Stan Walker, and a study of 1 Samuel, led by Ken Goff.
Morning worship continues at its normal time, 10 to 11 a.m.
Also, the midweek Bible Study in the Gospel of Luke will be moving to Sunday mornings. Stan Walker continues to lead a study on “The Truth Project,” a DVD series produced by Focus on the Family, at 7 p.m. Thursdays at his home in Freeland.

Forum explores the benefits of yoga
This Sunday’s adult forum at St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods Episcopal Church in Freeland is “Yoga and You Redux.”
Instructor Wendy Dion from Greenbank will give a previously scheduled lecture on the benefits of yoga.
Regular yoga exercise improves your overall health, balance, and flexibility. Wendy Close will host.
Vacation Bible program in Langley
St. Hubert Catholic Church in Langley is having a summer vacation Bible program for children ages 3 to 10.
The program is 9 a.m. to noon daily from July 13 through July 17; the cost is $5. Everyone is welcome and need not belong to the church.

C&MA presents ‘Night of Total Praise’
A free concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14 at Langley Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
“Night of Total Praise” will feature vocals, instrumentals and moments of meditation, all aimed at bringing together an evening of worship and praise.
