Teenagers sight saucer

“A teen-age sister and brother saw a flying saucer circle Greenbank store Tuesday night. Yeah we were scared, said Heather Hamby, a senior at Coupeville High School. Heather, 17, and her brother, John 18, a senior at the school, were going to the store to make a phone call at about 9 p.m. when they saw what the army specifies as a U.F.O. It was a clear, quiet night and it didn’t make a sound, said Heather. ‘The thing was disk-shaped with, I think, a brim.’ ”

Islanders share tales of war in Iraq

“Victory. For South Whidbey soldiers, it’s time to bask in the glory of their accomplishments, to court blessings and pray for families not so fortunate in a war that raged 7,000 miles away. For Saddam Hussein and his people, the horror had just begun. But for the families of the U.S. Soldiers, the anxiety and sleepless nights are over.”
