For a second year, the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts invites patrons to “party ’til the alligators come home” at a Mardi Gras fete Feb. 1, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Carnival lights will illuminate the theater, and Cajun-style cuisine will be served.
Included in the evening’s events are a live auction of local art, including Marianne Brabanski’s original artwork used as this year’s event image; a French Flea Market of silent auction items; dance music of the Kingbees of the Bayou; a piano bar featuring Nancy Nolan; Tarot card readings by Jaya Sarada; and gaming tables.
Partygoers are encouraged to wear costumes and/or masks, but they are definitely optional.
Tickets are $45. Funds raised from WICA’s Mardi Gras Carnival will keep the theatre running through the rest of the year.
