Meeting to discuss school district concerns

South Whidbey community members are invited to voice their concerns and ideas at an upcoming meeting.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, parents, students and taxpayers “who feel unheard by the current school board” can meet at the Water Services Building in Freeland to talk about increasing attendance at school board meetings, holding the board accountable for funding and academic performance, raising awareness of school committees and offering a monthly platform to work collaboratively towards improving the schools, according to a flyer.

The event is hosted by the Voices for South Whidbey Education, a group of local non-partisan parents and grandparents. For more information, contact Voicesforswsd@gmail.com.

The building is located at 5585 Lotto Avenue in Freeland.
