Counting on increased foot traffic in Langley, Mo’s Pub plans on getting noisy during Choochokam Arts Festival.
The music, food and arts weekend runs July 5-6 in Langley. Maureen Cooke, owner of Mo’s Pub and Eatery on Second Street, submitted the permit application and received city council approval for live, amplified music each night. It was her third of six possible permits this year.
“I know Ms. Cooke is going to extraordinary measures to monitor people,” said Mayor Fred McCarthy.
The mayor referenced Cooke’s hiring of doormen to ensure people stay relatively quiet when outside the bar on its patio or in the alley. Cooke also submitted recent decibel readings to the Langley Police Department, which was not a requirement of the permit.
“There’s going to be noise all over town,” said Councilman Bruce Allen.
