A man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 4 p.m., the man was traveling southbound on State Highway 20 near Greenbank when he encountered cars stopped to turn left, according to Island County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scott Fortin. The man told law enforcement the sun had been in his eyes and he couldn’t see the brake lights.
As the motorcyclist tried to stop, he lightly sideswiped a car, caught the guard rail and laid his bike down on the grass near the highway.
Personnel from the sheriff’s office, State Patrol and Central Whidbey Island Fire and Rescue responded. The man complained of arm pain and was transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center, Fortin said.
No one else was injured in the accident.
