Input on design plans for the proposed new Mukilteo ferry terminal is being sought during a presentation Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Washington State Department of Transportation, Ferries Division, will be visiting Clinton to show off its 60 percent design plans. In a press release, the design thus far includes cultural elements, environmental features, the building itself and customer experience. The team behind the design will be available to answer questions.

The meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Clinton Community Hall, 6411 Central Ave., Clinton.

Another meeting the next day in Mukilteo will also cover traffic analysis results and feedback on intersection improvements, and pedestrian and bicycle access on Highway 525.

The new terminal has been touted by the state as relocating the ferry boarding traffic away from a busy commercial area in Mukilteo. Placing the terminal less than a mile northeast, at the site of the former military oil tank farm, puts the bulk of the holding traffic farther away from the park, restaurants and housing.
