Fiber optic internet was unveiled and demonstrated for the first time at Langley City Hall last Thursday.
A presentation from Langley Mayor Tim Callison detailed the potential impact 10 gigabit internet can have on Langley’s economic growth.
In his presentation, Callison said the fiber optic internet would provide infrastructure for new businesses and support living and working on the island rather than commuting to the mainland. He also said tech companies could make Langley their new home.
Whidbey Telecom Co-CEO George Henny said this initiative will eventually expand across the South End.
