A pair of new members were added to Langley citizen boards during last week’s city council meeting.
Kristy Korrow was appointed by Mayor Fred McCarthy and confirmed by the council to the planning advisory board. The board, which oversees the city’s planning regulations and standards, has operated with five members and without an alternate.
“She’ll be an asset to the planning advisory board,” McCarthy said.
Jeannie Miller, the office manager for Whidbey Island Dance Theatre, was appointed and confirmed to the city’s arts commission. That board has operated with six members and without its seventh member, which now has a full board.
Two other citizen board members were reappointed by the mayor. Councilwoman Rene Neff and Cary Peterson were both appointed for another term on the cemetery board, which manages and recommends policies for the care of Langley-Woodmen Cemetery.
Joann Hamick Quintana was confirmed as the chairwoman of the city’s library board, from which member Jay Hugret resigned because of family circumstances, McCarthy said.
