It’ll be a feel-good show — in the truest sense of the word.

Beverly Graham and Julie Keegan are launching an online radio program called “Breathe in radio” at 6 p.m. Friday, July 11.

“It came out of both of our passions to help people see all the options that life has to offer — how fabulous life can be,” Keegan said.

Listeners can expect a community-based radio show that is interactive and tries to inform, entertain and make listeners feel good about life.

The show will air for two hours and will feature guests from around the community; alternative health practitioners, artists, merchants, authors and interesting characters.

“Gretchen Lawlor, Mara Grey and Pattie Howard will be our in-house experts on astrology, gardening and nutrition and will join us regularly to impart their wisdom,” Graham said.

Keegan added that there are a lot of experts on the island and they hope to connect people via their program.

“On the island we have so much to share,” she said.

Graham and Keegan also have a breadth of knowledge to share.

When they aren’t radio hosts, Keegan is the owner and practitioner of Oriental Healing Arts in Langley and Graham owns Vibrational Mending and is a sound practitioner. Graham also offers corporate, business and higher education retreats and workshops.

The inaugural show will be a bit of a party as Graham and Keegan celebrate their new show at Rockhoppers in Clinton and Graham and her husband are celebrating their 22nd anniversary that day.

“We will be interviewing folks from the audience and having a hoot of a time,” Graham said. “We hope you will come out to support us and enjoy the show.”

“It will be lighthearted, but educational,” Keegan added.

People can come out and watch the show and even comment, Keegan said.

The women already did a practice show and it had great success.

Keegan said even though it’s a new medium for the pair, she said she wasn’t conscious of the microphone or nervous about the audience. That was because she didn’t know that her “test-run” on June 26 would actually air.

“They liked it and put it on the air,” she said.

The dry run was streamed live at the Rockhopper Café in Clinton. People can visit www.ferryfolk.com to see the first broadcast.

The show will be streamed regularly on the Web site www.breatheinradio.com, a site designed by recent Bayview School graduate Ahren Bader-Jarvis.
