Classes will start at South Whidbey Elementary School on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The first two days of school will be half days, and students will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m. The regular elementary school hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The school’s breakfast and lunch program will be in full swing the first day of school. Free and reduced lunch prices are available for low-income families. Parents must re-apply for free and reduced lunches; applications will be sent home with all students on the first day of school.
School officials also note that registration for kindergarten is ongoing. The school office is open from 9 to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m.
Parents and incoming sixth grade students can attend orientation at Langley Middle School. Students and their parents or guardians will review their schedules from 9 a.m. to 11 Wednesday, Aug. 31. Schedules will be available for students and parents from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and Aug. 31. Classes begin Sept. 6 at the middle school, with early release for the first two days at 11:20 a.m.
South Whidbey High School also has early release the first two days of class. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. There will be an orientation in the auditorium from 8 a.m. to 9 Tuesday, Aug. 30, and an open house for parents and guardians at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the commons.
Information on bus stops and pick-up times will be posted in the Record, and school officials said there have been changes to bus routes this year.
