None injured in two-car wreck near Woodard Ave and Highway 525

A two-car collision near the intersection of Woodard Ave and Highway 525 in Freeland momentarily disrupted traffic for about 15 minutes on Wednesday.

A two-car collision near the intersection of Woodard Ave and Highway 525 in Freeland momentarily disrupted traffic for about 15 minutes on Wednesday.

The wreck occurred around noon.

According to South Whidbey Fire/EMS Deputy Chief Mike Cotton, a northbound vehicle and a southbound vehicle nearly collided head-on but the drivers swerved at the last second, resulting a “glancing blow.”

No one was injured but the vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed away.

“The cars were not drivable,” Cotton said.

The disruption to other motorists was short-lived; fire officials were able to quickly move the cars off the roadway.
