Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine how a man found outside died, according to Oak Harbor Police Chief Tony Slowik.
The department reported that at 4:28 a.m. on Dec. 4, police responded to a request for a welfare check in the 1300 block of North Oak Harbor Street. Officers arrived to find the body of an adult man lying on the ground.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are under investigation. Slowik said the death is considered suspicious because of the location of the body.
The chief said the medical examiner performed the autopsy Thursday. Final results will be available once toxicity results are back.
