The Independence Day holiday weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year for Washington State Ferries.
In a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation, the agency encouraged ferry riders to plan ahead for heavy traffic at the Mukilteo and Clinton terminals Thursday, July 2 through Sunday, July 5. Ferries will operate on normal sailing schedules Saturday, July 4.
Based on the terminal congestion table published by Washington State Ferries, a typical weekend sees heavy vehicle traffic leading to a wait of at least one sailing. For more detailed information, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/traffic_stats/congestion/summer/MukilteoClintonSummer2015.pdf.
