Langley has found its interim director of Community Planning in retired planner Jack Lynch, a Clinton resident who is president of the Clinton Community Council.
Since early November, Langley has operated without a planner after Jeff Arango resigned to take a job with a private firm in Seattle. Mayor Fred McCarthy said he hopes to have the position filled by January, though Lynch is willing to stay on until February if necessary.
After a couple of weeks, the job posting yielded 17 applications. McCarthy said the selection committee will pick four candidates by the end of this week. Those candidates will be interviewed Dec. 16-17.
The job pays between $62,400 and $76,000 in annual salary, plus about $35,000 in benefits.
