Port, city of Langley finalize transfer of city marina

Langley Mayor Paul Samuelson and Port of South Whidbey commissioners Lynae Slinden, Geoff Tapert and Rolf Seitle met at the harbormaster's office Monday morning to formally hand over the "keys" to the Langley Marina.

Finally, it’s done.

Langley Mayor Paul Samuelson and Port of South Whidbey commissioners Lynae Slinden, Geoff Tapert and Rolf Seitle met at the harbormaster’s office Monday morning to formally hand over the “keys” to the Langley Marina.

The officials approved and signed the final documentation to complete the transfer of the Langley small boat harbor from the city to the port. Following resolution of legal technicalities which delayed this documentation, the title and escrow documents were approved and signed for recording.

“Congratulation, enjoy your property,” Samuelson said.

Seitle noted the historic significance of the occasion.

“We started all this in 2003 and the process certainly has had its ups and downs,” he said. “All of us agree it was the right thing to do for Langley and the people of South Whidbey.”
