Port of South Whidbey commissioners decided at their last meeting to conduct an evening of in-person interviews with the applicants for the job of finance manager.
The port lost its last finance manager, Dane Anderson, when he resigned to take another job. There are six candidates for the position, said Port Manager Ed Field.
Field said a special meeting for commissioner interviews with the applicants will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the port’s office in Freeland.
Port commissioners will discuss the candidates in a closed-door executive session, then reconvene to vote to hire someone.
“They will come into open session, probably close to 10 o’clock, and make a decision,” Field said.
All six applicants are Whidbey Island residents, Field said.
