Work to stabilize a section of Possession Road is expected to begin soon, Island County Public Works has announced.
The project is expected to begin in early September, and will shore up a part of the road that’s begun to sag. The problem was due to faulty construction techniques, the release said.
Contractors will stabilize the road’s foundation and the bluff by using a large excavator with special attachments to hammer 15 to 25-foot spiral nails into the slope.
One lane closures are expected during this project.
The work is expected to take less than a week. Work to clear vegetation from the work area took place in August.
