As of this month, The South Whidbey Record has three full-time reporters.

On May 12, Cynthia Woolbright started at The Record after working for the Whidbey News-Times in Oak Harbor for a year as an editorial assistant. Her work has appeared in past editions of The Record as the two newspapers share some editorial content.

At The Record, Woolbright is a general assignment reporter. She will primarily focus on the arts, lifestyle features and entertainment.

Record editor Matt Johnson said Woolbright comes to the newspaper as the perfect person for the job.

“Cynthia will be an enthusiastic addition to The South Whidbey Record staff,” he said.

Johnson said Woolbright brings strong reporting and photography skills to The Record, and will fit in well with the newsroom team.

Woolbright, who lives in Freeland, is a 1999 graduate of Puyallup High School. She attended Texas Tech University, where she was a general assignment reporter for the Texas Tech University Daily. She has also freelanced for the Puyallup Herald.
