Lynae Slinden has been named director of Senior Services of Island County’s flagship facility, South Whidbey Center.
Slinden, a former Port of South Whidbey commissioner and owner of Island Framery in Clinton, has lived on South Whidbey for 25 years.
She holds a degree in public administration from the University of Washington, and in 2012 returned from two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Ukraine.
For the past year, she’s managed two local farmers’ markets in Langley — the South Whidbey Tilth and Second Street markets.
She replaces Elizabeth Harris, who has repositioned as director of outreach and marketing for Senior Services.
