Sheriff’s report for Wednesday

2:41 p.m. — A driver behind a red Toyota pickup on Highway 525 called police after debris flew out of the truck.

8:33 p.m. — A woman on Beach Bluff Drive said some men behind her house had lit a bonfire near a wetland.

April 7

7:48 a.m. — A homeowner on Anderson Road called police after he confronted a man with a slender build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, who had said he was looking for a shortcut through the neighborhood.

8:34 a.m. — A man on Newman Road told police that his car had been broken into and CD cases had been stolen during the previous night.

9:26 a.m. — A woman on Whidbey Shores Road called police after she noticed a diamond missing from her wedding ring. She suspected a recent

visitor.

10:43 a.m. — A man on Crystal Street told police that people were dumping their trash illegally on the right side of Orr Road near Humphrey Road.

10:44 a.m. — A man on Crystal Street called police back to report more trash on Heggenes Road.

6:24 p.m. — A northbound driver on Highway 525 called police to report that a driver of a tan truck was driving erratically, making dangerous passes and nearly colliding head-on with an Island Transit bus.

10:07 p.m. — A man on Campbell Road told police that his female roommate appeared to have been assaulted during an unknown time frame. She denied aid but was hysterical.
