‘Our Triune God’ is topic at SWCC
Pastor Ron Wedeking will be speaking tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church on the topic, “Our Triune God,” based on the Gospel of Matthew, 28:16-20.
Sunday worship is from 10 to 11 a.m. and is preceded by an adult learning forum at 9 with Stan Walker leading a study in the Book of First Corinthians, and Rick Zapata leading a study in the Book of Genesis: the life of the Patriarchs. These are open classes and everyone is invited.

‘The Wisdom of Buddhism’ at UUCWI
Unitarian Universalists draw wisdom from many of the world’s religions. This wisdom inspires Unitarians in their ethical and spiritual lives.
This Sunday, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island will explore some of the teachings of Buddhism and will experience satsang, a coming together of people to share spiritual time.
The service is at 10 a.m. and all are welcome. Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation meets at 20103 Highway 525, just north of Freeland.

Sermon looks at God as the source of life
The Christian Science service on Sunday will explore God as the source of all life.
“Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine,” (I Chronicles 29:11).
For centuries, debates have raged over the origin of the universe and of life.
Whether thinking Earth was flat or round, being circled by the sun or circling the sun, a consistent theme is that human theories have never unlocked the absolute knowledge about the world or even the formation of our own planet. Today, quantum physics calls into debate even long-held theories about time and space.
Yet if one starts with Spirit, Divine Mind, one finds harmonious laws that don’t change over time but can be demonstrated and proved. “Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source,” (“Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”).

Lessons from a robbery at Unity
Rev. Bruce Milne will give the talk, “The Universe Means Everything for Good!” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.
Milne, a guest Unity minister, will share the spiritual lessons he learned from a home break-in and robbery. There were a series of synchronous events following the robbery that led to new personal insights and self awareness.
Despite the terror of being robbed, no one could have predicted the amazing positive outcome.
