On Sunday, March 13, the Christian Science service examines why we don’t have to have more things in order to have more life, better health and a sense of self-worth without any sense of deprivation.
All are welcome to this joyful seeking of the kingdom of God, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also,” (Luke 12:31).

‘Evolution Sunday’ is this weekend at UUCWI
At the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island service on Sunday, Rev. Kit Ketcham will consider some of the ways the insights of Charles Darwin have affected Unitarian Universalist theology, inspiring a shift from the legends surrounding creation to the growing body of scientific knowledge about earth’s origins.

Rev. Becker to give the lesson for Unity of Whidbey
Rev. Patty Becker will talk about “Right Speech” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.
Our power of speech and its right use has been addressed in the ethics codes of many world religions. It is recognized not only as a tool for communication, but also as a potent carrier of our creative impulses. It both glorifies and debases and is completely within our own control.
This Sunday, join Becker to learn how the conscious use of speech can transform your quality of life both spiritually and in the world.

SWCC sermon on Sunday is based on Book of Joshua
Sunday’s sermon at South Whidbey Community Church is based on the Book of Joshua, Chapters Three and Four. Pastor Darrell Wenzek will speak on the topic, “Get Ready for a Miracle: living life on the edge sometimes comes with unexpected confirmations.”
Sunday worship at SWCC is from 10 to 11 a.m. and is preceded by an adult learning forum at 9 a.m., with Stan Walker leading a study in the book of First Corinthians, and Rick Zapata leading a study in the book of Genesis: the life of Abraham. These are open classes and everyone is invited. Home Bible studies are also offered; check the church website for times and locations.
