‘One Story, Many Meanings’ at UUCWI

‘Beyond Resolution’ is the topic at Unity
Rev. Patty Becker will discuss “Beyond Resolution” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.

Goals are worthy things to have, but are often short-lived. What about thinking bigger? What about creating a vision for your life that aligns you with your true potential?

Revelation series continues at SWCC
Tomorrow morning at South Whidbey Community Church, Pastor Darrell Wenzek will speak on “The Church at Laodicea,” the next installment in a continuing series on the churches of the book of Revelation. The text for this message is Revelation 3:14-22.
Sunday worship at SWCC is from 10 to 11 a.m., and is preceded by an adult learning forum at 9 with Stan Walker leading a study in the book of First Corinthians. This is an open class and everyone is invited. Home Bible studies also resume this week; check the website for times and locations.
At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 is the church’s next men’s breakfast at the grange. Walker will speak on “Beyond Sermons to Ministry: How We Progress from Consumers to Producers.” Darrell Coburn will be the featured chef, and all men are cordially invited.

Bible study series starts this Sunday
A three-part adult Bible study course that will examine scriptures and context will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
Part 1, “Does the Bible Contradict Itself?,” will be an interactive investigation of perceived Biblical contradictions. Participants will attempt to resolve scriptural dichotomies.
Teacher Gordon Labuhn has experience as executive director for nonprofit associations, CEO of corporate propriety and government service, and has taught at Capital University and Ohio State University. He is founder and president of Harbor Lights Consulting, providing business management, publicity and promotion services.

Healing Room now open in Freeland
The Healing Room is open to anyone desiring personal prayer for physical, emotional or spiritual needs.
This team of Christians from several area churches is dedicated to using prayer to help heal the sick in the community.
All ministry is private and confidential, and they are available to pray for individuals who drop by on a first-come, first-served basis.
