South Whidbey is among 14 Washington state high schools that made the national College Board’s 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll, according to a recent news release.
The list includes 547 districts across the United States and Canada that were honored for increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) coursework while increasing or maintaining the percentage of students in the district earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams.
The attainment of these goals is indicative of the district’s ability to successfully identify academically prepared, motivated students of all backgrounds who will likely benefit from AP coursework, according to the College Board.
The College Board is a mission-driven, non-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity, according to its website. Founded in 1900, the College Board was created to expand access to higher education.
