The South Whidbey School Board is expected to have a short discussion of what to do next in light of the recent rejection of the school district’s $25 million bond measure at the its next meeting.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 in the classroom next to the library on the primary school campus.
Board members have talked about the possibility of changing the previous bond proposal and putting it on the February ballot, though some in the community have expressed doubts that a rerun bond will pass.
Also on the agenda are reading assessment reports from each school.
The school board will also meet earlier in the day for a site visit to South Whidbey High School. The board will meet with principal Rod Merrell from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., then host an open meeting with high school staff to talk about improving student achievement.
